With so many ways to understand the human mind, the world of therapy can be overwhelming to navigate. Finding the right fit is important, because research shows that a good connection with your therapist is integral to the work we undertake together, even though the process is undoubtedly unique for each individual. Counselling Psychology

Counselling Psychology is an academic applied psychological discipline studied to doctoral level. The core values of empathy and respect are informed by humanistic psychology. Your needs and pace are central to the way in which I work, and the focus is very much on you and your goals.

Counselling psychology is focused on facilitating growth and fostering well-being, using a strengths-based approach, and is non-pathologising. In essence, counselling psychologists take an approach of being with the client, developing an understanding of the client’s frame of reference and the context of their difficulties, to facilitate understanding and reduce psychological distress.
